Healthy diet can alleviate moderate to severe depression, finds study
It has been believed for quite some time that a healthy diet improves mental health. Researchers from Deakin University in Australia have, in a first-of-its-kind study, established that eating healthy does indeed lower the risk of moderate to severe depression. Director of Deakin’s Food and Mood Center and lead author of the study, professor Felice Jacka, mentions that the study was the first randomized controlled trial to establish a direct link between diet quality and treatment of clinical depression.
