Coping with premenstrual dysphoric disorder
Most females experience some sort of discomfort related to physical and emotional changes during menstruation. Commonly known as pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), the symptoms are manifested as irritability, abdominal cramps, bloating, tenderness of nipples, etc. Although such symptoms usually disappear within the first two days of the menstrual cycle and are not associated with any mental disorders, some women might experience increasing levels of discomfort which can hamper their day-to-day life. This severe case of PMS is known as premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
